Sunday 17 July: Congratulations to Rev Vaughan Pollard on the announcement of his appointment to be vicar of St John's, Clayton.  The service of institution was on Tuesday 1 November with Bishop Nick Baines

Thursday 30 June: Farewell buffet for Rev Jenny Park

Pentecost Sunday, 12 June: CTSD Party in the Park at Ayscoughee Gardens from 2 until 4:30pm - cancelled due to inclement weather.

The event was to include a display of favourite verses as part of the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of the King James Bible.  The top ten favourite verses nominated in the area are available on this website.

Flower Festivals: included many on the theme of marriage and included live big screen showing of the Royal Wedding


Good Friday, 22 April
: 10:00am processions from St Thomas's Road Methodist and St Mary & St Nicolas churches, meeting in Hall Place for the Good Friday Open Air service (Baptist church if wet).  Poster attached at the foot of this page  

2011 Lent Lecture series details now available: each Monday evening lecture from 14 March until 11 April at Spalding Baptist church, PE11 1BT. 
There is opportunity to contribute to the 400th anniversary celebrations of the King James Bible; downloads and more information are available on the Lent Lecture page of this website.

Palm Sunday, 17 April
Procession leaving Holland Markets at 10:15am to St Mary & St Nicolas church for 10:45am with children's activities at Spalding Baptist, Swan Street; organised by CTSD.
The procession and service included readings, prayers and music by choir and ecumenical music group; the address was given by Dr Pete Atkins, chair of CTAL, encouraging the adoption of three virtues seen in Jesus on the day of his entry into Jerusalem on a donkey: ensure our timing is God's timing, be prepared for the cost of following God and be like Jesus himself in his courage and humility.

Tuesday 15 March, 7:30pm: CTSD Meeting, Spalding URC, PE11 1QD.
The meeting included Hope Together (and pre-planning for Hope 2014), Street Pastors, Palm Sunday service starting at 10:15am from Holland Market, Good Friday outdoor service, Party in the Park for Pentecost, Christmas 2011 in The Crescent working group and a Discipleship road show in April.  Next meeting: 11 May at St Paul's 

Sunday 13 March, 6:30pm: 'I was hungry and you fed me', with Judy Perry, Christian Aid representative; first in the Holbeach Methodist church Lent talks series

 A warm welcome to Rev Robert Sheard, attending even before his Induction Service at Spalding URC on Saturday.
Rev Jenny Park to remain as clergy chair until her retirement in July 2011.  Christine Smith to remain as lay chair for a further year to provide continuity.  Ros Lukins to be secretary, Clive Bourne as treasurer.
Subscription rates remain at £1.50 per member at subscribing churches.
Brief introductions to the More than Gold and Hope for the Future initiatives and update on the exploration of exemption for TV licences for churches for the Royal Wedding.
Meeting dates for 2011: 15 March, 11 May, 7 July, 19 September and 15 November.  The next AGM to be on 12 January 2012

Fridays 8, 15 & 22 January, 10:00am - 5:30pm: PowerPoint training with The Family Friendly Churches Trust, The Deepings Methodist church, Deeping St James, PE6 8HD.  Fees: £30 for each day.
